Client Case Study: Value Health

Interactive experiences can help patients to consider a new solution or therapeutic now, even when the norm is to delay as long as possible.

Inspiration for introducing a new model to patients via employers and groups comes from Value Health knee surgeries.

100,000-member Ambulatory Surgical Care Provider Value Health offered employers and group organizations the option to have certain surgeries and procedures performed safely outside of hospital outpatient departments at a lower cost, with equal or better outcomes, and built-in support afterwards. Part of the cost savings were provided to the self-insured group, and part as a direct payment to the individual.

Even though this was a very positive new option, it was unfamiliar. Great communications, leadership meetings, and a health concierge line to answer questions only did so much to get knee surgery candidates to consider this option.

Affective Health worked with Value Health to discover what was keeping patients in familiar patterns and traditional behaviors. Together we developed interactive experiences that helped appropriate surgical candidates explore the new option interactively in just a few minutes.

This small, seamless addition of interactive experiences provided as a personalized follow up at scale after group introduction meetings succeeded at increasing enrollment 50%.  Having an successful interactive experience also helped Value Health attract new groups, by showing them this interaction in advance and how quick, helpful, and positive it was for those considering knee surgery in the future.

What small addition could make the biggest difference for you? We can help you determine where to fill a gap you didn’t know you had.
